Philip Morris, a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series driver from South Boston Speedway in Virginia, was the top driver in the Hunter Index for June.
He wasn't my choice, but he received four first-place votes and beat Keith Rocco, 174-168.
I put Brett Moffitt atop my list for the Hunter Index. He won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at Iowa Speedway last month.
Greg Pursley was the only driver from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in the Hunter Index top 10. He came in at No. 6 after a fourth-place finish in the K&N Pro Series race at Iowa Speedway.

Here is a look at how I voted:
1. Brett Moffitt – This is kind of a no-brainer. He won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series race against the top drivers from the West and East Series at Iowa Speedway. But not only did he win, he did it in dominating fashion. Leading 138 laps and pulling away from drivers at the end of the race was impressive.
2. Max Gresham – While he didn’t win the K&N Pro Series race at Iowa Speedway, he had one of the better races. Making up 21 spots to finish as the runner-up made for a productive race for Gresham.
3. Eddie MacDonald – His best race of the season came at Iowa Speedway in the K&N Pro Series race. Maybe it’sfor the first a many to follow.
4. Greg Pursley – He finished fourth overall at Iowa Speedway in the K&N Pro Series race, but credited with a win.
